A note about this hotel:

Best Western Casino Royale is one of the oldest hotels on the Strip. One wonders how it has escaped the wrecking ball! It doesn't have the pizazz of the newer places. i.e. its not meant to impress. It doesn't have restaurants or shows or flashy swimming pool. What it does have is clean, comfortable rooms. Its also very affordable with no "resort fees" (because there are no resort amenities!)  The location is perfect, mid way on Las Vegas Blvd. Harrah's and Mirage are right next door.

Since our flight home doesn't leave until 8:50 we have all day to explore "the Strip" some more. But its too darn hot! We walked and walked, ducking into air conditioned spaces, down to Caesar's and across the street to the Bellagio.  The Conservatory was most impressive! We probably walked 2 miles by the time we were done.....and over heated! Lunch at Yard House, only because the brunch place had a one hour wait!

After losing 8 dollars on the slots, we decided there was nothing left to do here so we headed over to the airport - we could hang out in cool spaces there and have dinner. The Uber ride was really expensive ($35) but the Morrocan driver got us there in just a few minutes, The airport was crazy; our gate area was packed!

We had a decent Mexican dinner at a place right across the hall. When it seemed like it must be time to begin boarding, the gate attendant announced: "Sorry for the delay,  BUT WE ARE MISSING A CAPTAIN" What?

Over the next couple of hours we'd get an update to the effect that they were still looking for a pilot! Finally they grabbed a guy who had just come in from Hawaii and told him ,"I know you're tired, but you gotta take these folks to Boise"!

Anyway, we finally made it home by about 2:30AM!

So it was quick three day adventure! The BJ auction was great fun! Next time we'll go to the one in Scottsdale; best to go on the Saturday when all the high dollar action is!

Las Vegas is, well, Las Vegas. Too hot, too many people, too expensive, but lots of fun! Great for people watching!
