This is a quick three day adventure to Las Vegas. The main purpose is to attend the opening day of the Barrett Jackson auto auction at the Convention Center. We went to the auction here two years ago and it so much fun we wanted to repeat! While we're here we bought tickets to two "shows", Matt Franco and some song and dance thing called "X Country". Since lots of things have not yet re-opened from the Covid pandemic, we aren't sure what we'll find.
There is historic heat around the West this week. We left home about 9:00 and flew Southwest through Phoenix. We arrived in LV at about 3:00 - the temperature on the Uber driver's car showed 119! That's hot! The airports were VERY busy!
We easily found our hotel, The Best Western Casino Royale. After a brief rest we went out exploring; to find a place for dinner. We started at the Mirage, right cross the street. We were amazed that most of the restaurants were closed! We presume that they just haven't re-opened from Covid yet.
We went next door to the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. This place is huge - an indoor mall! We finally found a place for dinner - at the bar at True Food Kitchen. A Very good meal!
Tomorrow we spend the day at the auction, then a show at night!
